CONSIDER IT
"Some of us experience anxiety all through the day, regardless of what is happening. Others of us worry about particular things: money, work, children, health, an unsafe neighborhood. We may fear failure, or the unknown, or becoming ill, or losing a job. We may fear for our loved ones or ourselves. One way or another, each of us encounters fear from time to time, and we need to be confident that God is present with us in the midst of our fears"
What is one thing you worry about or one that that gives you a zing of fear? When you were a child, what were some of the things you were afraid of? How many of those fears, if any, have you carried over into adulthood?

"Let Me prepare you for the day that stretches out before you. I know exactly what this day will contain, whereas you have only vague ideas about it. You would like to see a map, showing all the twists and turns of your journey. You'd feel more prepared if you could somehow visualize what is on the road ahead. However, there is a better way to be prepared for whatever you will encounter today: Spend quality time with Me.
I will not show you what is on the road ahead, but I will thoroughly equip you for the journey. My living Presence is your Companion each step of the way. Stay in continual communication with Me, whispering My Name whenever you need to redirect your thoughts. Thus, you can walk through this day with your focus on Me. My abiding Presence is the best road map available"
What does "quality time" with Jesus mean to you? What do you think about whispering Jesus' Name throughout the day; especially during those times when you are tempted to worry or feel afraid?
"Whenever you feel distant from Me, whisper My Name in loving trust. This simple prayer can restore your awareness of My Presence.
My Name is consistently abused in this world. But when you trustingly whisper My Name, My aching ears are soothed. The grating rancor of the world's blasphemies cannot compete with a trusting child's utterance: 'Jesus.' The power of My Name to bless both you and Me is beyond your understanding"

"I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live" / "The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The LORD protects the simple-hearted; when I was in great need, he saved me"
ReplyDelete(Psalm 116:1-2; 5-6 / New International Version)
"Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens, praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the LORD, for he commanded and they were created. He set them in place for ever and ever; he gave a decree that will never pass away"
